Mirror Questions
MIRROR QUESTIONS are used to CLARIFY UNDERSTANDING.
- We replace the problem word or phrase with a suitable question word.
- Use statement word order, not question word order.
- Stress the question word.
- We repeat a part of what was said.
- Use 'do what' to replace a verb phrase you didn't understand.
Example:
A: She met Mark yesterday.
B: She met who?
