The Union Flag or Union Jack is the national flag of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
The current design dates from the Union of Ireland and Great Britain in 1801.
The flag consists of three crosses:
The cross of St George, patron saint of England.
The cross of St Andrew, patron saint of Scotland.
The cross of St Patrick, patron saint of Ireland.
